Join us for a special announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office regarding a new public service announcement (PSA) about recent scams targeting individuals posing as law enforcement officers. These scammers threaten arrest if victims do not pay a fine.

One scam making a resurgence involves scammers impersonating law enforcement officers and demanding payment for missing jury duty. Here are some helpful tips to protect yourself:

Courts send jury summons by mail. If you receive a summons, it will come through the mail.
If you miss jury duty, the court will send information by mail. They will not call you demanding payment.
Courts will never demand payment over the phone.
